1. Tell us a little about yourself – what is your name and what do you do? How did you decide to start treatment with braces?
My name is Rosen, I am 36 years old, and I am a lawyer by profession. I deal with the affairs of an international fintech company in the field of digital finance and have to communicate daily with colleagues and people from all over the world. In my work, it is important not only how you do, but also how you look, and what message you send with your vision. My teeth have always been incorrectly arranged, but this did not bother me until a check-up showed that this leads to health problems and the development of cavities under the gums.
2. What were your initial concerns or hesitations about braces and how did you deal with them? My biggest worry was how I would be perceived and how others would perceive me with braces. For me, they were something that was worn more during school years, and I was afraid that I would look ridiculous at that age. But the moment I decided to get braces, it so happened that other people my age did too, and everything seemed much more normal. My anxiety disappeared as soon as I put them on – literally on the second day I began to perceive myself completely normally with them on.
3. How long did your treatment last and was it faster or slower than expected? My treatment lasted a little over 2 years, which was the initial expectation, as there were several teeth that needed to undergo a fairly major “transition.” I also had to lift my bite, as well as a few smaller adjustments that slowed down the process, but everything was within expectations.
4. How did you feel during the treatment? Were there moments when you noticed a visible change and that motivated you? The treatment went entirely according to the plan and schedule presented to me in advance. There were no unforeseen moments or unnecessary delays. Visible results came very quickly, which really changes perceptions and motivates a person to move forward.
5. How was your experience at the clinic? Did you feel comfortable and well cared for by the team? The attitude of the clinic team has always been impeccable and completely professional. Although there were a few cases where I had to cancel an appointment at the last minute, it never created any tension for them, for which I am extremely grateful. In addition, I have had the pleasure of being a personal friend of Dr. Delcheva for years, and the fact that I could trust a friend with this process made the whole experience even easier and more enjoyable.
6. Was there a specific moment when you felt particularly pleased that you had made this decision? I never doubted that I had made the right decision. By solving every problem related to my teeth, I only strengthened that belief even more.
7. What were your expectations for the final result and were they met? I always knew that the treatment would only be finished when Dr. Delcheva was happy with the result. And considering that she is a perfectionist in her work, this meant that the best possible result would be achieved with the givens of my teeth. However, in the end I was puzzled by the result – I had not imagined that I could have truly straight teeth.
8. Do you get compliments on your new smile? Has it affected your self-confidence? Yes, there is definitely no one around me who hasn't noticed the change. I've never had a problem with my self-esteem, but I definitely like the result and how it changed my overall look.
9. Was there anything about the process itself – technologies, methods – that impressed you? At the start of the treatment, casts of my teeth were taken the traditional way, using a plasticine-like substance to mold the cast. At the end, when it was time to make the aligners I would wear at night, the process was done using a scanner, which in one swift motion sent the information to the dental technicians and the aligners themselves were with me the next day – truly amazing.
10. How would you describe your overall experience and would you recommend my treatment to others? The overall experience was a journey that, although thorny, was well-planned and there was no moment when I did not receive adequate explanations and expectations that did not match reality. The attitude, professionalism and ease of the process are factors that I would highlight (and have already done so) to my loved ones who are on the verge of making a decision for a complete transformation of their smile.
11. What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant about getting braces? Don't delay - the treatment time will not get shorter, and you will not get younger. You probably won't find a higher level of professionalism for such a competitive price. Every lost day takes you one day further away from the perfect smile and the desired self-confidence.
